What are we going to cover in this training?

During these 21 days of training divided into 7 modules, we will deliver lectures about fundamental psychological and physiological development and how these two interconnect together. This very unique combination will give you information about the formation of the character and its various defence systems. You will come to learn how your character affects your body and why your physiological body looks the way that it does. You will learn the reasons behind your unique preferences and biases, and we will explore what has been helpful to you in those leanings and what obstacles they can also create in your life.

Furthermore, you will familiarize yourself with different Bodynamic techniques which will teach you how to support a person in changing their behaviour. These techniques can be applied to people of all ages, including children. Additionally, you will become more proficient in reading the physiological body and how to interpret this information in psychological terms by identifying areas of a person’s strength and areas that need more care. This knowledge will provide you with new perspectives on how to act and help you determine what would be most beneficial in the contact with others. Lastly, but not the least, you will familiarize yourself with the short version of the Bodyknot, a technique we teach for keeping dignity and mutual connection when in difficult situations with others and oneself. It’s a very helpful tool used for conflict resolution and building an observing ego.

Why should I take Bodynamic training?

Bodynamic system has been around for 40 years already and has been focused from the beginning on researching and understanding the body and its connection to psychology and development. It is one of the very first schools to integrate the body, the brain and human behaviour all together. This system offers the most comprehensive tools and techniques for deepening the understanding of oneself and others. It is also very distinctive as it’s been designed to make psychological progress “measurable”. This offers a whole new level of practicality to the users of this material whether it’s applied in a field of work or in one’s personal life.

Bodynamic core values

Bodynamic core values are Dignity and Mutual Connection. These are present throughout the whole program and at all levels; throughout the material that is taught, through the group experience and teacher-student relationship.

The Foundation Training is the one-year basic training of Bodynamic System. During the basic training you will learn the character structures, the character positions as well as the basic meanings to understand contact and communication as it is presented through the system (mutual connection, dignity, boundaries, centering and grounding).

The structured description of the different phases of development during childhood, which include a central developmental issue and their connection with the different developing defense mechanisms, provide a comprehension frame of human expression. Through the education you will strengthen your abilities, so that you are present and precise in your professional work.

Development of Character Structures

The focus is on the development of character structures by addressing specific needs and challenges in individual phases of development of all human beings (existence, autonomy, etc.). Here, Bodynamic has developed a unique differentiated model of character structures through a 25-years of empirical study. It describes the child development in 7 phases from the 2nd trimester in utero to the 13th year of life.

Role of Developmental Trauma

Development trauma plays a decisive role in the development and creation of these structures. The term was introduced and used by Lisbeth Marcher even before it became popular by Bessel van der Kolk, one of the leading American psychiatrists in the field of trauma and its effects.

Loss of Self

Developmental trauma emerges when a child experiences massive and persistent rejection, neglect, etc. through the parents, in the context of the central needs of a development phase. This means that the child may not develop central aspects of his or her own self or may end up abandoning them altogether.

Body Ego

The child experiences in its early childhood in relationship to its external world above, all about his body (bodyego) and its movement. In addition to physical milestones such as crawling, sitting, standing and walking, the child must learn a variety of movement patterns.

Character Types and Positions

In this training you will learn how the child moves through individual phases by developing motor skills and the voluntary use of muscles and muscle tone reacts to specific external developmental challenges. Correspondingly, body and character structures are formed that are divided into either a more hypotonic (early) or a hypertonic (late) type, each requiring a different therapeutic approach.

These create a characteristic body posture and a corresponding expression, mimicry, etc. As part of the training curriculum we explore the ability to recognize and “read” these embodied character structures. This allows you to step into the age-specific “resonance” of your client and to integrate these respective resources optimally into the healing process.

In addition, this training provides you with a variety of specific body exercises and techniques, as well as the knowledge, more precisely, more effectively and efficiently, with the traumatization of your clients.

Hadi Adam Bahlawan Marcher

Hadi is the third generation, after his mother Ditte Marcher and grandmother, the founder of Bodynamic, Lisbeth Marcher that is actively part of the system. He has been the CEO of Bodynamic International since May 2019. He is working to make this system more known and applied all over the world. It is his dream that Bodynamic methods will be used in different areas of life.

Hadi’s career started with a pedagogue’s position in an integrational kindergarten. Later on he expanded his work towards working with adolescents. He has worked with the ‘Red Cross’ organization in refugee camps, using his Bodynamic skills. Part of his responsibility was to take care of the refugee unaccompanied children and adolescents and refugees that had history of being tortured.

For 4 years H. Marcher has worked with people on the Autism Spectrum, using Bodynamic methods and received tremendous results. These people differ in their extend on how well they are adapted to life. One of the outcomes of his work was that Hadi was asked to teach other pedagogues how he works with people that have Autism in different institutions in Denmark.

He has also worked with patients that suffer from personality disorders like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and PTSD as well as with people that suffer from eating disorders and sexual abuse using the Bodynamic approach. Within the Bodynamic International organization Hadi has been an assistant trainer and co-teacher in ‘Shock and Trauma Training’ of Bodynamic, in Brazil, Ukraine, Denmark and Greece. As well as promoting and participating in Bodypsychotherapy conventions in Europe.

H. Marcher gets his energy by using all his Bodynamic skills in his daily life, in his relationship with his family and friends. He is tremendously fond of doing yoga and spending time in the nature and playing football. Spirituality has a big place in Hadi’s life, as well as keeping on the desire to constantly rebuilding more knowledge around the different traditions from all over the world. He loves his work and the learning will never stop.

Lisbeth Marcher

She is the founder of the Bodynamic System and of Bodynamic International in collaboration with various colleagues. She is the former director of the Bodynamic System, while now she is the international supervisor for all educational issues.Lisbeth Marcher is the former president of EABP.

She has presented her work and taught in many countries and at many conferences, since the 1970′s. One of her main contributions to the Bodynamic System is the recognition of the hyporesponsive reaction in peoples’ way of being, and how this behavior is represented in the muscles in the body as hyporesponsive muscles in opposition to the normally accepted armour reaction – hyperresponsive muscles. She developed this recognition into a Bodymap and a Characterstructure system, that could be taught to people.During the late 1980′s she was part of developing the Bodynamic approach to resolving shock-trauma – and developing new resources – which is now a separate training from the Foundation (20-24 days) and the Practitioner training.

Many articles about the system have been published, most often by her colleagues – but with her participation in formulating the theory. She has been working on finishing a book about the system for many years – and has been fighting with her dyslexia to make it happen – and now finally published, The Body Encycloedia.

Today Lisbeth is part of the Bodynamic international teaching team, and travels to Greece, Brazil, Germany, Holland and Denmark.
